Peter Spens has been commissioned to paint at Cheltenham Racecourse and this is a work in progress from the November / December 2012 Meetings. Cheltenham Racecourse have asked him to be their artist in residence for two seasons and this series of works will be exhibited in Cork Street in October 2014.

Peter Spens painted this image from the roof of Horse Guards during the Olympics, and this will be on display at Horse Guards during the Open House Weekend 22nd and 23rd September, and then at The Gallery in Cork Street, from the 24th September 2012.

Peter Spens has completed his Thames Pageant painting (above) and is continuing to work on a series of paintings from the roof terrace of SJ Berwin, located at the North East corner of Southwalk Bridge. He is looking forward to working during the Olympics on a series from Horse Gaurds building on Whitehall.

Peter Spens has painted the vivid ceremony of the Trooping the Colour and Beating Retreat on the spot from Horse Guards. Trooping the Colour occured on the first three Saturdays of June. The picture above was painted on the first Saturday.
